Benton Fine Art is a Cotswold based fine art dealership, established in 1972 by Jeffrey & Melanie Benton and now run by their son Matthew Benton. Matthew was born into the antique business and for over 30 years has been directly involved in sourcing 19th and early 20th century original art works by listed artists. He is passionate about what he does and has developed an expert eye for what clients will love. He also has experience in exhibiting at quality vetted antique fairs such as the Olympia Art Fair, BADA and LAPADA Antique shows. Matthew’s wife Nicola, whose background is in advertising and marketing joined the business in 2021 and undertakes all the research and writing of artist biographies.

Being a small family run gallery not only allows us to offer our clients that personal touch but also helps us to remain highly adaptable to art market trends. Our knowledge and experience of the art market and the artists we deal in gives us the unique ability to source authentic high quality affordable art from the past that we know you will appreciate for years to come.

For over 15 years we have been members of two well-known and established trade associations the British Antique Dealers Association (BADA) and the Association of Art & Antique Dealers (LAPADA). Both of these associations carefully vet their members for their experience and knowledge and have strict codes of conduct which we abide by. Being a member of both the BADA and LAPADA trade organisations offers you the reassurance that you can buy from us with complete confidence.

With clients increasingly based abroad and not just in the UK, we are also well versed with packing and shipping. We use a professional, fully insured and tracked door to door service for our UK and international deliveries. All our items are carefully packed using robust materials to ensure your item arrives in the same condition as it left us.

All of our paintings are shown with multiple, zoom-able images which include room settings helping you to visualise how they might look in your home. These high resolution images allow most people to buy from us online with certainty. However, we do offer viewing by appointment which can be done virtually so please get in touch if you wish to arrange one.
