An Austrian cold painted bronze sculpture of a Borzoi mounted on an onyx base with lovely hand finished detail and colour. Vide poche comes from the French expression meaning ‘empty pocket’. During the late 19th and early 20th century trinket trays featuring small sculptures of animals became highly popular. Many were made with dogs and combined with onyx, a highly durable material, such as this fine example.
