Caroline Ellen Watson was born on 30 October 1871 in Seacombe near Birkenhead, Cheshire into the Watson family of artists. Her father was William Watson Jnr (1847-1921) and her grandfather was William Watson Snr (1809-1871). Her brothers William, Water and Arthur Sidney also became artists. She took her influence from her father painting animals such as highland cattle or sheep set within rugged and dramatic landscapes. She exhibited at the Royal Cambrian Academy. Watson died in Oswestry in 1947.
